Emily Roland

Executive Director, Program Implementation

North Carolina Healthcare Foundation

Emily Roland serves as the Senior Director of Program Implementation at the North Carolina Healthcare Foundation and NC State Team Lead of CaroNova. In this role, Emily oversees various rural-focused and grant-funded projects aimed at increasing healthcare access, addressing chronic disease through community-informed interventions and policy change, and scaling innovative approaches to equitable health improvement. Prior to her current role, Emily worked within the Association’s advocacy and policy department to coordinate and lead the grassroots advocacy engagement of nearly 130 member health systems and their partners throughout the state. Emily is a graduate of Leadership NC Class XXV and currently serves as the Chair of the NC Rural Health Association. Prior to joining NCHA in 2014, Emily spent a decade at the North Carolina Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) as the statewide Campaign Director for various corporate and community fundraising campaigns. Emily earned her Bachelors’ in Sociology from UNC Chapel Hill and her Masters of Public Health from East Carolina University.
