Professor & Department Chair

Department of Social Work, The University of North Carolina at Pembroke

Dr. Summer Woodside is Chair and Professor in the Department of Social Work at UNC Pembroke. Dr. Woodside completed a BSW degree at UNC Pembroke, MSW degree at UNC Chapel Hill, and PhD in Specialized Education Services and UNC Greensboro. She is licensed as a school social worker, school administrator, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and holds certification as a Financial Social Worker. She has previously worked in health, behavioral health, school, and non-profit settings and has served on the Scotland County Board of Education for 10 years. Dr. Woodside is currently the primary investigator for the Southeastern Prevention and Addiction Recovery Resource Center and the HRSA OPTIMISE program.
