This year's theme is Infrastructure for All: Connecting North Carolina. The summit will explore the evolving landscape of infrastructure and its role in shaping resilient, connected communities. In partnership with the Institute for Emerging Issues, the 2026 Rural Summit will focus on three key areas:
- Traditional Infrastructure: Transportation systems, water, and wastewater
- Infrastructure for the Future: Energy grid modernization and broadband expansion
- Infrastructure for Economic Development: Housing development, revitalization of downtown areas and the role of artificial intelligence
