About the Speaker
Rachel Hunt
NC Lieutenant Governor
Rachel Hunt’s professional and political journey reflects her commitment to family
and public service. As an attorney specializing in domestic law, she founded Hunt for
College, LLC, to assist families with the college application process. After pausing her
career for full-time parenting, Rachel became an active community volunteer, serving
on the PTA and various boards, including the League of Women Voters. Elected to the
North Carolina House of Representatives in 2018, she defeated a long-term incumbent
in a challenging district, showcasing her resilience. Her effective governance led to her
re-election in 2020 and her subsequent election to the North Carolina Senate in 2022.
As the 36th Lieutenant Governor, Rachel Hunt continues her advocacy for education
and community, inspired by the values instilled by her parents, Governor Jim and
Carolyn Hunt.
