R. S. (Randy) Williams, AICP has extensive experience as a Planning Director, and Project Director/Manager for a variety of master planning assignments. With 41 plus years of experience in public and private sector planning, his strength is in the coordination of the community needs and detailed attention to urban design and environmental impacts in growth and development areas. He has managed complete departmental functions, budgets,  and worked with several boards, civic groups and committees on a wide range of physical planning projects serving local governments and private industry with a specialization in urban design, economic development, environmental, municipal, small area and comprehensive planning. Mr. Williams holds BS in Geography and Planning from Western Carolina University and MS In Architecture Urban Design from UNC Charlotte and is presently the Planning Director for the City of Newton, NC.
