Ryan Baker
East Carolina University Center for Telepsychiatry
Ryan Baker is in his 22nd year within the health care industry and 8th year as the Administrator of the East Carolina University Center for Telepsychiatry which is the home of the North Carolina Statewide Telepsychiatry Program (NC-STeP) in Greenville, NC. His position is responsible for all financial, administrative, and operational functions within the Center of Telepsychiatry and NC-STeP. Currently, the center and NC-STeP provide behavioral health services at twenty-nine hospitals, twenty-four adult community sites, five pediatric community sites and one University of North Carolina System institution. Since inception NC-STeP has provided over 69,000 Emergency Department and 42,000 Community Site assessments with a total savings of over $65 million dollars to the State of North Carolina in unnecessary hospitalizations. The ECU Center for Telepsychiatry has been recognized nationally and internationally with various awards and recognitions including most recently receiving the 2024 Bronze and 2025 Silver Psychiatric Service Award from the American Psychiatric Association.
