Zach Steffey has served as the Town Manager for the Town of Franklinton, North Carolina since June of 2022. During his tenure, Franklinton has experienced a renaissance of downtown revitalization, along with significant residential growth and an expanding biotechnology presence, including being home to the North American headquarters of Novonesis. Located along the US 1 corridor on the northern edge of the Research Triangle region, Franklinton continues to position itself for strategic economic growth and development.
Zach holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from UNC Wilmington and a Master of Public Administration from UNC Chapel Hill. He is an ICMA Credentialed Manager and also has his AICP certification. He has more than 12 years of local government experience, having previously served as the Town Manager of Cape Carteret and as the Town Planner for the Town of Wrightsville Beach. Zach serves as Executive Director of the Franklinton Chamber of Commerce, is a member of the UNCW Alumni Association Board of Directors, and serves on the NCLM Legislative Policy Committee.
